Corey Graves in his After The Bell podcast recently spoke at length about the legendary Scott Hall and how he had influenced the current commentator on WWE RAW.
Graves lavished praise on Hall and remembered how happy “The Bad Guy” was to share his knowledge with anybody who asked. Graves added that Hall had been everywhere and seen everything. The 37-year-old said that Hall had changed the business from a professional perspective.
“Any time I get to be around Scott, the knowledge that he possessed and was all too happy to share with anybody who asked. It was just this outpouring of wisdom from a guy who had been everywhere and seen everything, that literally changed the business from a professional perspective.”
Scott Hall has some fine achievements to his name in WWF/WWE but it’s hard to fathom that he never held a World title in the company.
The legendary Scott Hall was a 4-time WWF Intercontinental Champion. In WCW, he was a two-time United States Heavyweight Champion, a 7-time WCW World Tag Team Champion (six with Kevin Nash and one with The Giant aka Big Show), and a WCW Television Champion on one occasion.
With such a resume, you would seldom see a superstar not having a world title to his name. But as Graves put it, Hall didn’t necessarily require a World title. Graves explained that it’s what Hall added to the company that needs to be emphasized.
“There was nothing that Scott Hall had not seen or accomplished in this business. Aside from the one caveat – never world champion.“
“I don’t think Scott needed it. I don’t know that his career would have been any different. This was a dude that was such a revolutionary and such a game-changer in his own way. You just have to look at the overall body of work and what Razor Ramon/Scott Hall added to this business. To our lives, and then for those of us who were lucky enough to spend any time with him. Just grateful for the opportunity to spend time with one of the greatest of all time.”
