Sasha Banks proved she was one of the best in the business in WWE despite WrestleMania 37 disappointment
Sasha Banks is one of the biggest names in all of pro wrestling, male or female. Hell, she even represented WWE at Daytona 500 earlier this year.
That kind of fame and success has not been handed to her on a silver platter. ‘The Boss’ has had to earn her way to the top since her NXT debut 8 and a half years ago.
And it all paid off for her when she beat Bayley at Hell in a Cell last year to win the SmackDown women’s championship for the first time in her career.
Since then, Banks had a great feud with Carmella before being called out by the newest rising star in the promotion, Bianca Belair, for a title fight at WrestleMania 37.
She had no choice but to oblige and the two fought it out in a historic WrestleMania match that saw Belair beat Banks to win the title.
Banks was impressive in that fight and even though she lost, Corey Graves, speaking on his WWE After The Bell podcast, still thinks that there is no one better than her in the company.
“… and hats off to Sasha Banks. She came up short, so everyone is talking about Belair. But, again, I say it week after week after week, I challenge you to find a better in-ring competitor, definitely in the women’s division; maybe men included. But Sasha Banks is firing on all cylinders right now.”
Belair did steal the spotlight at the grandest stage of them all and had her ‘Mania moment. But Banks was still happy for her and smiling ringside.
That shows what a complete performer she is and that apart from being a great wrestler, she never shies away from helping others around her shine too.
It remains to be seen what route Banks takes on the show now. A rematch against Belair would seem a safe option but it seems the new champion is here to stay with the belt for a while.
