In a tragic turn of events, several NXT Superstars including former two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai have been released by WWE
Fightful Select broke the news that Dakota Kai and Malcolm Bivens had been released by the company. Bivens, however, rejected a contract extension.
We haven’t heard any explanations behind the releases, but after the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has let go of many promising superstars from NXT as well as the main roster to cut its cost.
The likes of Bray Wyatt, Ember Moon, Braun Strowman, Nia Jax, Rusev, Lana, and many more were released from the company in the last couple of years.
Dexter Lumis and Persia Pirotta were released from the company and this is quite shocking. Lumis and Pirotta featured regularly on NXT 2.0 and were given a considerable amount of time alongside Indi Hartwell and Duke Hudson.
Another surprising name in the list of releases was Harland. He was compared to a young Brock Lesnar at one time. However, he had been absent from WWE for quite some time. He didn’t even have any role in Joe Gacy’s feud with Bron Breakker.
