Damian Priest says he fancies a fight against WWE Royal Rumble winner Edge among several other stars
WWE superstar Damian Priest was talking to BT Sport WWE this week. The 36-year-old made his main roster just this week.
He signed with WWE in 2018 and spent the majority of his time since then at NXT. That was until he entered the men’s Royal Rumble at #14 last month.
He then appeared on RAW the next day, where he defeated The Miz in a singles match to record his first WWE main roster win.
And on this week’s Monday Night RAW, he got another impressive win in his singles match against Angel Garza.
Speaking after the match, he said that he wants to be a star on the show; and to be that, he wants to fight the very best that the sport has to offer.
“I only see myself a certain way; like, the star. That’s the goal. So to be that, I got to look at the ones, you know, start at the top. McIntyre, Edge, Randy, Bray, you know, Sheamus, Keith, Matt, Bobby Lashley, like, AJ Styles.”

Despite naming almost half the main roster, Damian Priest says that he is targeting the top names, such as Edge, because they are the ones who are in the main events.
“But just the first few names are the ones that are always in the main events, rare always the top featured guys. When you see a commercial, they are the first ones on the commercial. When they are on sports show, those are the ones that are always getting highlighted. That’s what I want, so I have to be in the ring with them. I have to prove myself against those guys.”
Back-to-back wins for Priest means that the promotion wants to give him the push on the main roster.
And rightly so. He is one of the most exciting talents in the promotion and looks like the next big thing on the Red brand. That time can’t be too far away when he is actually taking on these guys inside the ring.
