WWE Raw Superstar Damian Priest suffers back injury and has been missing from action
WWE Raw Superstar Damian Priest has been out of action for over a month due to a back injury (h/t Fightful).
He has not been seen on WWE since his Zombie Lumberjack Match against The Miz at WrestleMania Backlash. This comes as a disappointing blow for the star as he was being pushed for a big move in the last few months.
Priest is yet to lose a singles match on WWE Raw, and has only one loss in a tag team match against John Morrison and The Miz. His bad back is under rehabilitation and we’re yet to know a definite date for his return.
There are also reports that the tag team match with Bad Bunny could have been shifted at the last moment due to the uncertainty about his injury. Despite the injury, Priest fought the match up until the next PPV.
Priest made his main debut at the Royal Rumble this year, won by Edge. He was part of a brewing storyline with The Miz and John Morrison, which led many fans to believe that he will be booked positively by the creative team on RAW.
The Miz suffered his first major injury of his career at WrestleMania Backlash in the same match against Damian Priest. He suffered an ACL injury which would rule him out for upto nine months. This means that he could only return in early 2022. The Miz became the WWE Championship in February, when he cashed in on his Money in the Bank to beat Drew McIntyre.
The move pushed John Morrison to the singles roster where he has qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match beating Randy Orton. Morrison is part of an eight-man competition vying for the contract to cash in against a WWE champion at their time of choosing.
