Damien Priest talks about his favourite WWE NXT star, Bronson Reed, and has nothing but positive words for him
Former NXT star Damien Priest has made a near-perfect transition to life on the main roster since his debut on WWE RAW the night after the 2021 Royal Rumble.
A bucket-load of NXT stars have made the journey from the Gold brand to the main roster, with most getting lost in the crowd among the big boys while the others, like Priest and Rhea Ripley, standing out and making a name for themselves.
And for many, Bronson Reed is the next one up to make that transfer. The 32-year-old Australian is a force to reckon with on the Gold brand and is surely going to hold a belt on either RAW or SmackDown in the future.
Speaking about the Adelaide-born Reed in an interview with Sporting News Australia, Priest stated how much he admires Reed and how he is destined for greatness.
“I love that guy, I really do. He is literally my favourite in NXT. I’m a fan of the human being, he is such a good brother. I think he doesn’t have a ceiling that guy; because he is so talented and the human being side is so big, especially in this company. Triple H is all about good people – man, woman, it doesn’t matter. If you’re a good person and you work hard, there is no limit and there is no ceiling. I truly believe he is going to have so much success in this company – not just in NXT.”
Damien Priest wants to run it back with NXT star Bronson Reed in the future
The two have had some great matches on live shows, with a couple of great battles inside the NXT ring as well, none more memorable than their encounter on the August 12, 2021 episode of NXT.
And speaking about his matches with Reed in the past, Priest mentioned how much he wants to fight him again. If things go to plan, the two might be fighting it out on the main roster not too long from now.
“I look forward to working in the ring again…our stuff in NXT was awesome. Pre-pandemic, we had a lot of matches on live events and they were always bangers. I got out of the ring thinking ‘man, that was good’ and then you get to the back and the producers are like ‘you guys killed it’ and even the boys and girls were like ‘wow guys, that was great.”
There’s no one who is going to object to more matches between the two in the future, but Reed has other things to take care of right now.
He is primed to take on Johnny Gargano for the North American championship next week on NXT, with many speculating that it could lead to a match between the duo at NXT: In Your House PPV next month.
