Daniel Bryan provides big update on talks of WWE contract ending in September

Speaking to TV Line (h/t Cageside Seats), WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan has issued a major update on the situation of his contract with WWE amid reports that it expires in September.

The American Dragon has previously stated that wrestling is now becoming a secondary focus for him as he prioritizes time with his family. Widely regarded as one of the best in the business, Bryan has himself spoken how he does not have a lot of time left on his contract with WWE in the past.

With all this talk, there had been speculations that Bryan would see his current deal with Vince McMahon’s pro-wrestling behemoth run out as early as September this year.

However, Bryan has cleared the air on that matter, clarifying that, his contract does not expire in September as is being claimed in widespread reports in the media. However, he did not give away as to when the deal actually runs out.

“It’s funny that people gravitate towards the date “September,” and I think it’s because that’s when my last contract ended, but it doesn’t end in September.”

Further speaking on his plans for the future, Bryan insisted that he was still trying to figure out what he wanted to do.

“I’m still trying to figure out what that looks like… What’s the right balance between part-time and that sort of thing? It may be that it’s just every once in a while when the urge strikes, or maybe like a schedule where it’s like eight months on, these months off.”

This past week on SmackDown, Bryan was involved in a Universal Championship title match against Roman Reigns, with the stipulation that if he were to lose, he would be banished from the Blue Brand.

As it turned out, The Head of the Table reigned supreme, beating Bryan yet again while also hitting him with a con-chair-to after the fight. This could see WWE give Bryan some time off before reintroducing him on a different brand.

It remains unclear as to how long Bryan will remain active in WWE, but one thing is clarified, his contract does not expire in September.
