On August 24th, 2023, WWE former champion William Rotunda, commonly known as Bray Wyatt, died. The 36-year-old died of a heart attack after a long battle with a potentially fatal condition. Bray Wyatt was regarded as one of the wrestling industry’s most creative minds.

He knew how to gather attention by presenting his alter ego, such as in Firefly Funhouse and The Fiend. The Fiend was a dark aspect of Bray’s personality, and he was known to terrorize and dominate, and his performance piqued the audience’s interest.
He was a third-generation wrestler, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, Blackjack Mulligan and Mike Rotunda. His brother, Taylor Rotunda, is a professional who goes by the name BO Dallas. He was a three-time world champion in the WWE, and along with that, he held the Smackdown Tag Team Championship under the Freebird Rule and the Raw Tag Team Championship with Matt Hardy.
Did Bray Wyatt catch COVID?
Bray Wyatt had been going through certain undisclosed health issues since, and his last appearance was on Monday Night RAW on February 27. He was missing out on the matches that were scheduled, but due to his health issues, he had to stay away from the spotlight.
However, according to a report by Sean Ross Sapp, Bray was making progress, and it was predicted that he would return to the wrestling ring. The WWE management and Wyatt were waiting for clearance to be given by the doctors for him to get back in the ring.
Bray had been dealing with his health issues, and he did not mention the exact nature of his illness. Bray Wyatt contracted COVID earlier this year, and his health issues started to exacerbate. He was facing heart issues that got worse after he was diagnosed with COVID, and now he has passed away due to a heart attack.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp released a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, wherein he confirmed the news of Wyatt catching COVID, which led to the worsening of his health conditions, leading to a heart attack.
