American swimmer Katie Ledecky has been smashing records in the women’s 800m freestyle
Katie Ledecky is just 24 years old, and has already been called the greatest female swimmer of all time. There is none who can match her in long-distance freestyle events viz. 800m and 1500m.
The American first took the world by storm when she won the 800m freestyle Gold medal as a 15-year old at the 2012 London Olympics.
She then followed it up with four Gold medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she has been exerting her dominance as well.
Ledecky won the women’s 800m freestyle Gold, earlier today after having won the 1500m Gold a couple of days ago.
The 24-year old has vowed to carry on at least until the 2028 Olympics.
Dolph Ziggler reacts to Katie Ledecky being in a league of her own
Following her victory at 800m freestyle, stats displayed showed that the top 12 fastest times in the history of women’s 800m freestyle belonged to Ledecky. And a whopping 7 seconds separated her fastest timing and the 12th fastest time of hers.
WWE veteran Dolph Ziggler reacted to the same. He quote tweeted Bleacher Report’s post showing Ledecky in a league of her own, and dropped a couple of flexed bicep emojis to show his astonishment.
Besides winning the Gold medal at the 800m and 1500m freestyle events, Ledecky also won the silver medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay and 400m freestyle.
