The WWE decided to change Piper Niven’s name to Doudrop once she joined the main roster
On the 14th of June, 2021 Doudrop made her WWE main roster debut after being a part of the NXT for two years.
Her best performance in the black and gold brand was vying for the NXT UK Women’s Championship a couple of times.
In her main roster debut, she entered the ring alongside the returning Eva Marie. The powerful Scot (in her debut) helped Marie defeat Naomi.
A week later – on the next episode of Raw, Marie named her Doudrop (dropping her previous name of Piper Niven), suggested by the WWE.
The pair have been together ever since.
In a recent interview with Brian Wohl of Wrestling Inc, Doudrop revealed that she wasn’t over the moon when she heard her new name.
The Raw women’s superstar then stated that it became pretty good as time went by, and now she seems to embrace it.
Doudrop was quoted as saying:
“Not going to lie, at first they were like, ‘Your new name is going to be Doudrop,’ and I was like, ‘K.’ But I’m the type of person who takes an opportunity and runs with it. It doesn’t matter what it is. In this business, opportunities aren’t necessarily plenty, so I just took that ball and ran with it. It’s all about what you make of it. So far I think it’s been pretty good.” [via Wrestling Inc]
Eva Marie accompanied by Doudrop will be taking on Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam 2021.
Marie is one of the 3 female superstars in the current roster to have never lost a match at SummerSlam.
With the help of Doudrop she will be looking forward to overcoming Bliss’ challenge.
Marie tweeted:
“I am 1 of only 3 Female Superstars on the roster who are #UNDEFEATED at #SummerSlam … Winners Win #EvaLution #WWE.”
