Drake Maverick could be in his last WWE match on the upcoming edition of NXT
WWE star Drake Maverick has a do or die match on NXT coming up on Wednesday.
The Cruiserweight was one of the stars released by WWE recently. However, Maverick was retained to feature in the interim Cruiserweight championship.
Maverick had his ups and downs but recently won a triple threat match to fight in the finals. The former TNA star goes up against El Hijo del Fantasma, and it should be an interesting clash.
Maverick has dug deep to reach this position when he should have been out of WWE after his release. However, he is calm ahead of the clash and posted some upbeat messages about the future.
Maverick shared a picture of himself and Fantasma with the following message:
“I accept my fate either way. There is no pressure anymore.
“Nobody is too old for fairy tales…”
Maverick is an accomplished wrestler from his pre-WWE days, but this is the first proper run he has got regarding a serious belt.
He did have a run as the 24/7 Champion, but we all know that belt has had several winners in recent months.
Maverick vs Fantasma should be a great bout, and Maverick’s future is on the line. Many WWE stars have had storylines regarding their release, but this has felt a little different.
The cruiserweight has shown off a lot of emotion during this run, and hopefully, there is something to celebrate on Wednesday.
Either way, Maverick has shown that he deserves proper time on TV shows. He was underused on SmackDown as well, but this mini-run has seen the best of him during his WWE stay.
NXT always packs a punch, and the upcoming show is do or die for Maverick.
