Drew McIntyre all praise for Roman Reigns as he hopes for future meeting
During an interview with DAZN (h/t EWrestling), former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has hailed Universal Champion Roman Reigns for all the work he has been doing recently.
Reigns became Universal Champion on the WWE Payback PPV last year and hasn’t looked back since. The ‘Head of the Table’ has overcome challenges from Jey Uso, who went on to become his stablemate after that and Kevin Owens.
Following that, Reigns saw off Royal Rumble winner Edge and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 37, before ousting the latter from SmackDown after a win on the Blue Brand a couple of weeks ago.
Up next for the former Shield member is Swiss Superman Cesaro, who won a title shot after defeating Seth Rollins this past week on SmackDown.
McIntyre full of praise for Reigns
McIntyre, speaking of the work that Reigns has done over the past year, was full of praise for him. The Scottish Warrior also added that he hoped his paths would cross against The Tribal Chief in the future.
“I’m such a fan of his in general, and especially the work he’s doing right now is believable. He’s feeling it. He knows where he’s at as a character, and it’s pretty much the opposite of what he used to be. Where he used to be is where I’m at right now in being the fighting champion, putting the work, and being the workhorse. It’s interesting how those roles are flipped.
McIntyre and Reigns did battle it out at Survivor Series last year in what was a major highlight of the PPV event. And the former would love for another run with the current Universal Champion.
“I’m excited about the possibility of what we can do down the line because he’s absolutely killing it right now. I’m just going to keep doing it. If people want to see it, [put] us back together, give us time and watch us go.”
As McIntyre says, Reigns is indeed ‘killing it’ currently. Be it his promo, or in-ring work of the general characterization, The Tribal Chief is nailing everything. And no fan would turn down a chance to see him square off against McIntyre again after their epic battle at Survivor Series.
