Drew McIntyre is a fan favorite in WWE and is one of the top wrestlers in the company. The Scottish Warrior has been on a roll since his return to WWE as he has gone on to become a two-time WWE Champion and is currently eyeing his third world championship triumph in WWE. There have been certain rumors regarding his opponent at WWE Clash at the Castle.
Tyson Fury and Drew McIntyre have mentioned each other on a number of occasions during their interviews. Fans are speculating that the two tough men from different fields are going to lock horns in the near future.
Fury recently announced his plans to retire from boxing. Around the same time, WWE announced a UK-based premium live event Clash at the Castle, set for September 3, in Cardiff, Wales.
There are rumors aplenty predicting the two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and the undefeated boxer Tyson Fury to come face-to-face at the event in a dream match.
If this turns out to be true, it would be Fury’s second match in WWE. His first match was a win against Braun Strowman at the 2019 Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.
Drew McIntyre told New York Newsday that he has no problems getting in the WWE ring with Tyson Fury but he is not keen on getting into the boxing ring with the two-time world heavyweight champion. The two stalwarts are rumored to face each other at WWE Clash at the Castle.
“First of all, I think we’re talking about WWE. I think I’d be insane to get in the [boxing] ring with possibly the best boxer of all time, certainly top five. The ball’s in his court.”
McIntyre feels that Fury has an obsession with him which he described as “weird” but he added that he kind of likes the attention. The 36-year-old Scottish wrestler also said that he is currently focused on Roman Reigns but if Fury wants a piece of him, then he knows where to call.
“I appreciate that my name is always in his mouth. He’s got an obsession with Drew McIntyre, which is kind of weird. But I kind of like it at the same time. We’ve been going back and forth to each other nonstop for a couple of years. He’s got our number. My focus is on Roman Reigns and the titles right now. But if he wants to do business, he knows our people. Give us a call.”
