Scottish Premiership Champions Rangers get a WWE gift from Drew McIntyre
At this point, probably every WWE fan knows that Drew McIntyre is a hardcore Glasgow Rangers fan.
The Scotsman has revealed his love for the club multiple times, and was on hand to celebrate their Premiership victory last weekend.
Rangers won their 55th Scottish league title. While that is a lot of titles, this one was special because of the circumstances.
Since their last title, which came a decade ago, Rangers had been liquidated and had to start afresh from the bottom rung of Scottish professional football.
All of that changed when the club appointed Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as their manager in 2018.
After coming close last year, Rangers did it in style this season as they won it with 6 games to spare and 20 points in front of rivals Celtic. And, ‘The Chosen One’ was rightfully overjoyed.
Drew McIntyre has a WWE belt for champions Rangers
The recently dethroned WWE champion posted a picture of a custom WWE belt on his Twitter account.
The belt features the Rangers logo on both sides with ‘Scottish Premiership Champions 2020-21’ engraved over it.
The Rangers social media account also replied to the photo, reciprocating the love shown by McIntyre for the club.
It would have probably been sweeter for McIntyre had he still been the champion when he gifted the club his custom belt.
The Scotsman lost the title to The Miz at Elimination Chamber, who had some help from Bobby Lashley. Lashley then went on to win the belt at Monday Night RAW and is currently the reigning champion.
But you would think that this is not it for McIntyre. He will probably get at least a shot at his belt again, and it may come at WrestleMania 37.
