Drew McIntyre has been wanting to have a crack at Tyson Fury for quite a long time
Drew McIntyre is hell-bent on fighting heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury. The two have attained remarkable heights of glory in their respective careers.
It has been an absolute ride for both since 2017. McIntyre and Fury had their life at a crossroads prior to that.
McIntyre was not a part of the WWE, and Fury was an overweight man with suicidal thoughts. However, both their lives turned a corner, primarily because of their grit and determination.
By 2020, both were champions in their respective sports. Talk about comebacks!
Now, since both are from the United Kingdom (McIntyre is a Scot), McIntyre has always wanted to fight Fury in England. The pair have been going back and forth for almost a year on Twitter.
Speaking in an interview with Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN, McIntyre discussed extensively about his fight with ‘The Gypsy King’.
He said:
“He’s cutting promos on me the other day from Vegas. It’s pretty surreal to me. When I turn on my Twitter, and he does respond. It’s been over a year now that we’ve been going back and forth with each other. It gets people talking. I know there’s going to be a day where we finally make something happen. It’s going to be big, and ideally, I think it’s going to be in the UK.” [via WresltingInc]
Drew McIntyre acknowledges Tyson Fury’s greatness
McIntyre was all praise of Fury. He stated that Fury is someone who gives at all at whatever he does, before going on to acknowledge the entertainer in ‘The Gypsy King’.
‘The Chosen One’ also spoke about the last time Fury made an appearance in the WWE. He had a feud with Braun Strowman, before ultimately becoming friends.
McIntyre said:
“I know for meeting Fury, watching him, and the way he went about things when he was here last time. He’s willing to put everything he’s got into it. With me, I know I can get a performance out of anybody on this planet. I know he’s willing to put in the work, and he’s such an entertainer on top of it. It would be a big deal. “ [via WresltingInc]
