Drew McIntyre hints at two-day event for SummerSlam after WrestleMania 37 schedule

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has hinted at SummerSlam following a two-day schedule in the same way that WrestleMania 37 was held this year.

McIntyre believes that the two-day experience gave everyone a WrestleMania weekend feeling, which could be followed for the “biggest event of the summer.”

McIntyre talking on the BattleGround Podcast says: (h/t Rajah.com)

“I think it’s really cool to have a WrestleMania weekend, or SummerSlam weekend. As much as I love WrestleMania and be performing on it, I couldn’t imagine being in the crowd for up to seven hours at a time. It’s such a long event. I remember wrestling Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 35 and we were on a little later, and you could feel the crowd getting a little burnt out as the night goes on because they’ve been there for so long.

“If we broke it into two nights, we’ve got those shorter events and the crowd’s got their energy from start to finish. They can pick a night, they can pick both nights, or make a weekend out of it.”

SummerSlam is going to be held on 21st August this year at the Allegiant Stadium this year, with a packed crowd expected for the showpiece event. The event is also likely to see the return of former top stars like John Cena and Bray Wyatt, who have been missing from the spotlight in WWE.

John Cena hits out at Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre earlier had commented that he would have liked to face John Cena after he made his return to WWE. The duo have never faced each other in singles action in their careers, but McIntyre stated that he wanted to change that.

John Cena is a future WWE Hall of Famer

The 16-time World Champion Cena responded saying that the WWE decides for them and it is beyond their capacity to choose an opponent. In his successful career, Cena has faced the biggest names in the history of the business and will return to continue to do so till he eventually retires from the game.
