Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley will open WrestleMania 37
Drew McIntyre will be keen on winning his WWE title back from Bobby Lashley at WWE WrestleMania 37.
The Scot won the title last year as he defeated Brock Lesnar but his position on this year’s card is a little different.
McIntyre was one of the main events last year. However, Lashley and McIntyre were confirmed to be kicking off the card this year.
WWE could still have a dark match or kick off match before the main card, but McIntyre vs Lashley being the first match on Night one is a bit of a surprise.
Another big talking point is the return of the fans at the Raymond James Stadium. Although it won’t be a full crowd, this is still a plus for WWE.
McIntyre has spoken in the past about how important the fans are for WWE but he also served a warning to the other performers at Mania:
“I’ve said for the last year I want to be the first person out when crowds return. I can’t wait for that noise to hit. I just feel bad for everyone having to follow me and Bobby, we’ll set the standard, you all try and keep up”
This is going to be an interesting match, to say the least. Both are powerhouses and can put on some great moves.
However, Lashley is coming into this clash with a bit of doubt. He was dominant in winning the title from The Miz but ever since, he seems to be a little scared of McIntyre.
The All Mighty has goaded several stars into attacking McIntyre. However, the Scot is standing tall and seems to be in his best shape.
Either way, McIntyre or Lashley, both are capable champions. They could set the real standard for the rest of WrestleMania and that could be a hard act to follow for the rest of the roster.
