WWE releases new list of Top 50 Greatest Tag Teams
D-Generation ranked 21st in WWE’s new updated list of Top 50 greatest tag teams. D-X is an inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.
WWE released a list from the 50th to 21st position, beginning from the legendary The Bushwhackers. The list also included numerous legends from WWE including Rated RKO (Randy Orton and Edge) and Batista and Ric Flair.
Furthermore, the latest generational faction S.H.I.E.LD ranked in just below D-Generation X in the updated list.
The top-50 greatest tag teams ever is a tough task to choose from. The competition reached another level with the Hardy Boyz vs Edge and Christian.
The most successful team in terms of winning the gold are The Dudley Boys, who won a staggering eight tag team titles together. Demolition set the record for the longest reign as champion, defending it for 478 days.
D-Generation or D-X lasted from 1997-2000. The team includes Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Chyna and Rick Rude. In addition later, the New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn), Tori and X-Pac joined the pack.
D-X reunited in 2006 with Shawn Michaels and Triple H combining to create one of the greates tag teams ever seen. They created amazing segments like spray painting walls, illuminating arenas in neon and even marching along with a D-Generation X Army.
The duo lasted till 2010, after which Shawn Michael was forced to announce his retirement after losing to The Undertaker. D-X was a crucial part of the beginning of the Attitude Era in WWF.
With Chyna, the trio pushed the limits causing a skyrocketing in ratings in the late 90s. The duo also were at the top of their game in singles competition, with a WrestleMania XIV main event against Steve Austin.
Shawn Michaels and Triple H had various reunions on WWE, such as at WWE RAW 1000, celebrating the reunion with their patented ‘Suck It.’ The signature celebration is to hold two neon sticks in an X-shape and climb the corner turnbuckle.
