Edge says his 2021 WWE return won’t be the same without fans
WWE legend Edge is scheduled to return to WWE at Royal Rumble. And no, you are not reading an article from last year.
The Rated R Superstar confirmed on this week’s Monday Night RAW that he would be making a return this year. And, he would do so at the Royal Rumble this month.
Edge made one of the greatest WWE returns ever last year at the same PPV. He came out before an arena full of unsuspecting fans in the Royal Rumble after 9 years out action.
The atmosphere was nothing like you would have seen before. And Edge’s face told the whole story. That was not Edge making a return to WWE, it was Adam Copeland getting to live his childhood dream once again.
He went on to have a long-standing rivalry with Randy Orton after that where they also fought at WrestleMania 36.
Edge to make his WWE return in 2021, his second in a year
Edge eliminated The Viper at Royal Rumble, before himself being tossed over by Roman Reigns. An injury after Backlash last year forced him out of action.
But he has now confirmed that he would return again. However, Edge thinks that it would not be as good as last time. In all fairness, very few things could be as good as his 2020 return.
He wrote on his Instagram account:
“One year ago. Feels like a decade doesn’t it? This Sunday I’ll be in the #royalrumble again. No way to recreate the story of last year, and without all of you guys, no way it feels the same. The Rumble this year is different. A different story. It starts the path to getting back what I never lost. Let’s do this.”
It may not be as good as the last Rumble entry he made, it would still be a treat for wrestling fans.
Just having a legend like Edge back in the promotion is enough to get the fans hyped up. This year’s Royal Rumble takes place on January 31st.
