Edge reveals how he felt during feud with Matt Hardy and Lita
WWE Hall of Famer Edge opened up about his time in WWE when he was involved in a storyline with Matt Hardy and Lita.
Edge, made a guest appearance on The Kurt Angle Show, where he spoke about various aspects of his WWE career. He said: (h/t Wrestling Inc)
“I think when everything with Matt [Hardy] and [Lita], I didn’t enjoy any of that, that was hard. It was a position that I put myself in and thought okay, I made my bed, I just got to deal with this. Then I thought okay, we’re here now, how can we pull a positive? Let’s make some money. That’s what we did, this is the situation, now let’s try and get something good out of this pretty lousy scenario, the matches were [good] though because I loved working with Matt.”
“When I got to John, we kind of got on the same page and he realized what I was out to do, which was just that, to make him superman.”
Lita turned heel after she got involved romantically on-screen with Edge. The two even went on to have a sexual show on Monday Night Raw, interrupted by John Cena. Hardy, would stay a babyface and have the crowd support, but was outmatched by Edge on numerous occasions.
Will Edge be victorious at SummerSlam?
After Money in the Bank, it is all but certain that Edge will challenge Seth Rollins at SummerSlam this year. The two have never faced off in singles action ever, but are now set to go head-to-head next month. Edge has been unsuccessful on two occasions with a loss to Roman Reigns for the title.
This time around, Edge has the momentum in a new dimension of his persona. He has shown the WWE Universe that even the likes of Reigns can be taken down a peg in WWE. It will be an interesting month ahead for the two whose rivalry is set to go full-throttle.
