Edge Early Life & Career
Adam Copeland was born on October 1973, in Orangeville, Ontario in Canada. He was brought by the late Judy Lynn Copeland, who was a single parent and worked two jobs to support her child.
Copeland was interested in wrestling at a young age and credits a WWF match between Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior as the inspiration behind him becoming a wrestler.
However, he put his love wrestling aside and worked multiple jobs to pay the bills at home. He went on to obtain a degree in radio broadcasting at Humber College.
Edge Professional Wrestling Career
Edge wrestled on the independent circuit in Ontario, Canada, under the name Sexton Hardcastle. He was then recommended to WWF in 1995, and went onto make his debut at a WWF house show in Ontario in May 1996.
He was paid $210-a-week at WWE then, working without a professional contract, until he received a developmental contract in 1997. His moment in the spotlight began in 1998 when he introduced Christian as his storyline brother on the show.
The two went onto form one of the most iconic tag teams in the history of WWE, winning multiple tag team titles together. In his 10+ years with the promotion, Edge has become one of the most decorated wrestlers in history.
He won his first singles title, WWF Intercontinental Championship in June 1994, and went onto dominate the promotion in the years to come. He won the WWE World Championship four times, winning his first one against John Cena in 2006.
Apart from that, he has won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (x7), the Intercontinental title (x5) and the World Tag Team Championship (12x). He has also won the Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, and Money in the Bank amongst countless other titles.
He announced his retirement from WWE in April 2011 because of a chronic neck injury and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012 by his good friend Christian. He made a hair-raising entry at the Royal Rumble in January 2020 to announce his return to the promotion. Upon his return, he was in the best shape of his life and got involved in a feud with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 36.

Edge Personal Life & Relationships
Adam Copeland started dating Alannah Morley, sister of Val Venis, in 1998 and married her in November 2001. The couple divorced in March 2004 and Copeland married his second wife, Lisa Ortiz, in October 2004.
Shortly after that, Edge had an affair with Amy Dumas (A.K.A. Lita), who was the girlfriend of his real-life friend Matt Hardy. The news became public in early 2005 which led to Copeland divorcing Ortiz in November 2005.
Edge is now married to Elizabeth Copeland, who is better known by her WWE in-ring name Beth Phoenix. The couple has two daughters; Lyric Rose Copeland (b. December 2013) and Ruby Ever Copeland (b. May 2016).
The couple tied the knot on Edge’s 43rd birthday in October 2016. Edge says he tried smoking once at 16, and never did it again because he hated it. He is also a die-hard fan of the American rock band ‘Pearl Jam’.
