Edge paid an incredible tribute to Jon Huber (Brodie Lee) and explained his actions too
WWE legend Edge is a huge hockey fan, well most Canadians are, and he was featured in a brilliant video ahead of a big NHL game.
Canada has several NHL teams and Edge is a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New Jersey Devils. He also played hockey with former NHL star Aaron Downey and even after all these years in wrestling, the fire for hockey hasn’t died in Edge.
While the Canadian was pleased at featuring in the segment, there was one major talking point in all this.
Edge also brought up how great it was to feature on the show but his Jon Huber shirt caught the attention of many.
Huber, former known as Luke Harper during his WWE time, passed away unexpectedly a few months back. He was the leader of the Dark Order and had won the TNT title before losing it soon.
His passing away, due to a lung issue, shocked the WWE world and many stars paid tribute to him. Big E, Cesaro and many others have shared some incredible stories regarding Harper, and Edge too explained what the shirt was all about:
“For all of those asking, the Jon Huber Forever shirt I wore tonight is from @ViolentGents with all proceeds going to Jon’s family. Any others are knock offs that don’t go to his family.”
There have only been positive stories regarding Huber and one was about how much he loved hockey.
While Huber never really reached the heights during his WWE spell, he seemed set for great things on AEW.
His passing away was a huge shock to everyone in the world of wrestling. However, tributes continue to flow in for the former Intercontinental Champion.
Huber’s son, also got a contract with AEW and has featured on a few shows. AEW confirmed they would allow him to be on the main roster when he reaches the right age and if he would be open to continuing the wrestling tradition.
