‘The Rated-R Superstar’ Edge brought out ‘The Brood’ entrance at SummerSlam 2021
Edge took on Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2021. The veteran wrestler took a while to finish Rollins, in one of the longest matches of the night.
After spearing Rollins on the mat outside the ring, Edge brought his Edgecator flooring “The Aerialist.”
Edge ended up winning the contest by choking Rollins to submission. Despite Rollins’ attempt to get into Edge’s head, ahead of the match, Edge emerged victorious.
There was something special about Edge’s entrance that night as well. He brought out the old, ‘vampiry’ ‘The Brood’ entrance, rolling back the years.
Edge was a part of a stable called ‘The Brood’, back in the 90s that had Christian and Gangrel alongside Edge himself.
Following his win over Rollins, Edge took to Instagram to react to his nostalgic Brood entrance at SummerSlam 2021.
His post read:
“Hope you had as much fun watching this as I had recreating it. #summerslam #brood #gangrel #christian #wornstar #maineventgear.”
Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix reminisces witnessing Edge as ‘The Brood’ back in 2019
Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix stated that she was one of the audience when ‘The Brood’ brought a unique perspective to the WWE in 1999.
She went on to reveal that she was blessed to have gotten to witness the same 22 years later, in a Twitter post.
Here is what Phoenix said:
“I sat in the crowd in 1999 and watched #TheBrood bring something so damn cool & unique to the Attitude Era. 22 years later I got to do it again. What a life. #SummerSlam.”
