WWE SmackDown star Seth Rollins reacts in anger after Edge handed title shot
Seth Rollins has not taken a liking to the decision made to have Edge challenge Roman Reigns at WWE Money in the Bank.
The two rivals collide for the first time since their WrestleMania 37 match, after Edge returned to attack Reigns on Friday Night SmackDown.
Reigns’ former teammate, Seth Rollins has not taken the news well claiming that he deserves a title shot to challenge for the WWE Universal Championship, saying: (h/t Wrestling Inc)
“It was promised to me. They were inclined to agree. If you’ve ever had a human conversation, that means yes. So, that’s a promise, and they’re talking to me!”
“I don’t care what Edge wants! I’m Seth Freakin’ Rollins! This place revolves around me. I’ve been here every day. I didn’t take six months off. I’ve been here every day, busting my a**. I deserve that shot. I deserve that title match.”
“This is everything that I’ve worked for! I’ve never been more ready in my entire life. I deserve the opportunity, not Edge. Where has he been? He hasn’t been here since WrestleMania; he hasn’t done anything. He got his match at WrestleMania.”
Edge now gets a chance to become a 12-time World Champion and avenge his loss at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Rollins, meanwhile has been feuding with Cesaro, but is looking to gain a title opportunity at the earliest.
While Rollins fighting Reigns for the title is something to relish, there could be some big plans for him and the Rated-R Superstar.
Earlier, reports suggested that Edge will return to WWE in July. This is, in fact, not the case as Edge will be part of the title picture till July. However, with Seth Rollins’ outburst on Talking Smack suggest that his feud could tilt towards the Rated-R Superstar in the near future.
With Rollins and Edge having never faced each other, SummerSlam offer the perfect opportunity for this encounter.
Edge has been out of WWE since WrestleMania 37 and his fight with Rollins at SummerSlam could mark one of the biggest matches in WWE history.
