Edge was willing to make big sacrifices after Beth Phoenix got her NXT job

Beth Phoenix and Edge are now having full-time roles in WWE

Beth Phoenix was the latest guest on the Busted Open podcast and the Glamazon opened up on several topics.

The WWE Hall of Famer discussed her new documentary on Peacock and also how she grew into her commentator’s role on NXT.

Phoenix was one of the best female talents but she is doing a stellar job behind the table. The Glamazon was asked how she felt when she got the job but there was a lot doing in her head.

Edge, her husband, and Phoenix are blessed with two children. A full-time WWE role meant constantly travelling and Phoenix spoke with The Rated-R Superstar about this.

Edge was willing to put everything on the back-burner for Phoenix but it just wasn’t meant to be:

“When I took the job as a full-time commentator at NXT, we had this conversation, Adam and I, and I am like, ‘this is huge for our family’ and ‘I am going to be travelling every week’.

“I have been a stay at home mom all the time while he has been acting. When he has been the one that has been gone. He’s like, ‘well, I am just going to down shift to a stay home dad if I get some acting great but if not, you are the working mom go get it’, right after that Adam returns to the ring.

Phoenix added that her family and a whole “village” of people, including a nanny, were doing a lot to take care of the kids.

Phoenix added that she was enjoying her role now but also brought up how her schedule is contrasting with Edge’s.

While she travels for NXT on Wednesday and Thursday, Edge is off on Friday to perform on SmackDown.

There are days when the pair meet up for just 10 minutes, but the love of the business keeps them going. Phoenix and Edge are doing stellar jobs on NXT and SmackDown, respectively, and The Glamazon also told Edge to go and do his Vikings role just weeks after their second child was born.

Edge was away three months at a time, but this was a great chance for him to perform on the show, and it became one of the biggest shows.
