WWE Superstar Edge reveals some facts about Crown Jewel
WWE Hall of Famer Edge won his bout against Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel in a Hell in a Cell match. However, he recently revealed that he was not ready to go to Saudi Arabia in the first place.
Rated-R-Superstar appeared on “The Kids on the Escalator” podcast (h/t E Wrestling) were talked about not being keen on going to Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. He mentioned it was the idea of Jessika Carr as a referee which played a bit of a role in the trip.
Edge said that he loved the idea of a woman being in control of two men in a country where women’s rights are not equal.
He mentioned that he is proud of his participation in such a historic match and about how Carr to the challenge and did to with perfection.
“When they asked me about blowing off the story in Saudi Arabia, I wasn’t too keen on going, I’ll be honest, but as we talked and they said ‘we need it there,’ I said, ‘Let us get Jess to ref there,’ not knowing if we’d be able to. I just loved the idea of a woman being in control of two men in that country. If it flew over a lot of heads, whatever, but for me, I can come back to my girls one day and tell them ‘I went over there.’ I think we did something cool. She was right there for everything, not overwhelmed by the moment, and stood up to the challenge. It was really cool to see.”
Edge wanted Jessika Carr to be the referee of his match at Crown Jewel
Jessika Carr was the first woman referee to be a part of the WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. This was possible only due to the WWE Hall of Famer Edge as he made the request that Carr should be the official of his clash at Crown Jewel against Rollins.
Carr was the referee for the whole trilogy match of Rollins and Edge.
