Ember Moon made her WWE return at NXT TakeOver 31 and wants a crack at Io Shirai

Former WWE NXT Women’s champion, Ember Moon, made her long-awaited return at TakeOver 31 and called out Io Shirai.

Shirai is the current champion on the Black and Gold brand and had just defeated Candice LeRae in a tough encounter.

The Japanese star has taken on all comers since winning the title, and she seemed to have a big target on her back.

Toni Storm also sounded a warning out to Shirai but Moon’s appearance was certainly a bit of a shock.

The former champion was pushed to the main roster in 2018 but had been missing from action since last year.

Moon had picked up an ankle injury, which was serious, and there were concerns on when she would return.

However, the 32-year-old is back and ready to go. While Shirai threw down the gauntlet and claimed no one could take her title away, Moon seemed set to challenge the Japanese star.

A huge clash awaits

Shirai vs Moon would be an amazing bout and it will be interesting to see how things develop between the pair.

Moon returning is great not only for her but also for WWE. The 32-year-old is one of the most talented women in the ring but injuries have been a problem for her so far.

Hopefully, she is 100% fit and raring to go against Shirai. The Japanese star has been another huge plus on NXT and she not only defeated LeRae, but she also got the win despite interference from Johnny Gargano.

Shirai sounds confident of keeping her title but things won’t be easy for her. Moon is certainly keen on becoming a two-time NXT champion while Storm is also waiting in the wings to take out the champ.
