Eva Marie discusses learning about formation of tag team with Doudrop
WWE RAW Superstar Eva Marie reveals how she was informed about her return to the company in a pairing with Doudrop.
Doudrop, formerly known as Piper Niven made her main roster debut on WWE RAW, taking Marie’s place to beat Naomi. She dominated to get Marie’s first ‘win’ in four years.
Marie speaking with TV insider, discussed the combination with Doudrop, praising her saying: (h/t Wrestling Inc)
“I knew for quite some time about getting paired with Doudrop and the vignettes and going into that creatively. It was a matter of the timing of when it would be put in the actual show. It just so happened that now is the time. The fact that I got to experience the ThunderDome before we actually start having live crowds again is amazing.
“Having Doudrop to work with is awesome. Not only is she an incredible athlete, but I enjoy working with her because it creates another element to the division.”
Doudrop and Marie have since then cost each other wins by refusing to cooperate during tag team matches. They look to be an integral part of the tag team roster in the months to come.
What makes the team so interesting?
Doudrop has experience in WWE before appearing on the main roster. As Piper Niven, she has even faced WWE Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley on NXT UK. Her chemistry with Marie looks exciting after their back and forth character swings.
The two seem to be on different pages, but combine magnificently to ignite the tag team division. With Natalya and Tamina holding the gold, they will be wary of this combination over the coming months.
Marie has not fulfilled her potential yet in WWE, but this could be the start of something special in their respective careers.
