WWE Superstar Eva Marie eager to renew rivalry with SmackDown’s Bayley
Eva Marie has made her presence felt once again in WWE after returning from a long absence in the company. She is now aligned with former NXT UK Superstar Piper Niven, now called Doudrop.
Marie and Bayley were together in their time on WWE NXT, but their careers have moved in opposite directions since then. Before her last appearance in 2017, the pair were involved in a storyline feud which never fulfilled expectations.
Talking to Bleacher Report, she said:
“Bayley is one of my favorite people to work with thus far. Obviously, I haven’t been able to experience a storyline and such with other girls, but for that moment in time and that story, just because Bayley is so giving, I learned so much from doing that storyline with her from a wrestling standpoint and creatively and stuff like that.
“To be able to jump into a storyline with Bayley again? Shoot, or, you know what, Becky Lynch too. I was in a storyline with her before I left as well from SmackDown, so to start another storyline with her would be fantastic as well.”
Bayley, who was then the NXT Women’s champion challenged Marie in 2015 and she came close to winning her first title.
Marie was always touted to make it big when she made her debut in NXT, but due to unfortunate circumstances, things have not gone her way.
Will Bayley taste the gold once again?
Bayley is currently in a championship battle with WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Belair has gotten the better of Bayley, ever since the two collided. Bayley, however, gets one huge opportunity in an ‘I Quit Match’ at Money in the Bank on July 18.
The former WWE Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion is experienced in winning the gold and will be banking on her versatility and craft to get over the line against the newly arrived Belair.
