WWE could not crown a new NXT Champion and that didn’t sit well with a few fans

The main event of this Tuesday’s special NXT saw a four-way Iron man match for the vacant WWE NXT title.

Karrion Kross had to vacate the title after injuring his shoulder right after winning the gold. NXT then set up a four-way match to decide who gets the crown and the Iron man match was for a gruelling 60 minutes.

The four men vying for gold were Finn Balor, Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. Each man had one fall to his name till the final minutes of the match. Balor then seemed to have got the win with his finisher. However, as he celebrated, Cole hit him with the Last Shot and quickly pinned the Demon Prince to make it two falls each.

There was a minor squabble in the end as Balor and Cole claimed victory. William Regal had to come out and make another huge announcement for next week’s show.

Another week of wait

The NXT GM confirmed that Cole and Balor would meet next week for the title. This would be a regular match and with one fall leading to the crowning of the new champion.

Some outlets had predicted this finale to the Iron man match, and many WWE fans believed this would be a great way to continue this rivalry.

However, WWE seem to have missed a trick as the referee made a quick three count to ensure Cole got his pinfall just before the buzzer.

Dragging this clash for another week also highlights that NXT didn’t have anything special for the upcoming.

Many fans also commented that the excitement leading up to this title match was gone while some didn’t even care about who would win the match next week.
