Former NXT Champion Samoa Joe gets released by WWE

Just one year after ‘Black Wednesday,’ WWE has made a slew of releases once again. Yesterday the company announced the release of several superstars from its ranks, including the iconic Samoa Joe. A brilliant duo of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, former women’s and divas champion Mickie James were among some top women’s superstars who were released.

The former NXT Champion’s release was the biggest surprise for the WWE Universe. Samoa was also a two-time United States Champion. He was last seen at WrestleMania 37 at the commentary table. 

WWE also released other wrestlers, including Wesley Blake, Wesley Tucker, Chelsea Green, Kalisto and Bo Dallas. The company said that they have “come to terms” with these wrestlers’ release, which also includes Joe, Kay, Royce and James. The statement also added “all the best” in all their “future endeavours.” 

“WWE has come to terms on the release of Samoa Joe, Chelsea Green, Tucker, Kalisto, Bo Dallas and Wesley Blake. We wish them all the best in all of their future endeavours.”

Fans are shocked about the release of Samoa Joe 

The company’s announcement of several significant releases has taken the WWE universe by storm. Several fans on Twitter were shocked to believe the news of Joe’s departure. Many fans have shown their anger. However, few fans were happy that the company released them instead of keeping them in contract and not using them much.

Here are some of the fans reactions following the release of the former NXT Champion. 

Joe took to Twitter and wrote that there is no snitching and he will be trying to work out this 90 days.
