Finn Balor won the WWE United States Championship from Damien Priest a few weeks before WrestleMania 38 on an episode of RAW. The Prince lost the title this week on RAW to Theory.
Finn defended his WWE United States Championship on the latest episode of WWE’s red brand. After a closely-fought contest, Vince McMahon’s protege won the title.
Finn opened up after suffering the loss and losing his title as he tweeted:
“Falling down is how we grow.
Staying down is how we die.
STAND UP”
Finn is one of the most popular wrestlers and has tons of experience. He certainly will have a rematch with Theory. The 40-year-old Finn didn’t have a match at WrestleMania 38 and fans were not impressed that the United States Champion wasn’t on the card for WWE’s biggest event of the year.
While fans are not pleased to see Finn lose the title so soon, they believe that Theory won the title on expected lines as he was receiving a decent push after aligning himself with the WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.
After Theory won the title, McMahon came out to the stage area to congratulate Theory. The youngster went to his idol and clicked a selfie before McMahon raised his hand.
Theory, who has been associated with Vince McMahon during many segments on RAW, won his first title in WWE by virtue of beating Balor.
The 24-year-old Theory has received a major push since the time he appeared first time alongside McMahon. He even had a WrestleMania match where he lost to SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee. After the match, McMahon entered the ring and had a match with McAfee but it was Theory, who did the dirty work for him as the boss defeated the former football punter.
However, the moment that fans had been talking about was when Theory sold Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Stunner in the most dramatic fashion. This was after Vince’s match with McAfee ended.
Theory will certainly learn a lot by having matches against someone as experienced and skilled as Finn Balor.
