Roderick Strong is the last remaining member of The Undisputed Era. He re-signed with WWE last year just before the release of his wife Marina Shafir.

As per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Strong has been asking for a release from WWE for a few months now. However, the company has denied him a release every time. According to the report, the 38-year-old is “frustrated” by a lot of things in NXT.

The sources who have spoken to Ross Sapp have stated that Strong has stayed professional in his handling of the company’s creative freedom from week to week.

WWE released 10 NXT Superstars on April 29. The likes of Malcolm Bivens, Dakota Kai, and Dexter Lumis were relieved of their duties. Many were surprised that WWE didn’t name Strong on that list.

It is however a piece of good news that the WWE creative team is considering plans for the former ROH World Champion. We will have to wait and watch whether Strong likes what is coming his way because as of now he is not pleased.

The veteran shared his thoughts regarding Roderick Strong wanting a release from WWE on the latest episode of the Hall of Fame podcast. Booker T stressed the importance of wrestlers having fun where they are working.

He opined that if a wrestler is not enjoying himself, he should be granted a release.

“I don’t know if they’re going to grant it or anything like that, I am nowhere near the office. But, if he wants his release, I say give it to him,” he said. “One thing about being down in that system, we were talking about Ember Moon, and Ember Moon says she had got to the point where she wasn’t having fun. Her contract was coming up, and she was not going to re-sign her contract as well, for a lot of guys it’s one of those things that we have talked about many, many times. They want to have some fun, man, you know what I mean?”
