Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson shares how Brock Lesnar helped him
Gable Steveson, who recently signed for WWE, has credited WWE legend Brock Lesnar who helped him sign this contract.
While speaking on the “The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani” podcast (h/t EWrestling News), Steveson talked about the role of The Beast in his decision to sign with WWE. Gable mentioned speaking to Lesnar about UFC, NFL and how both of their journeys are so similar to each other and was very happy to share some thoughts with the Beast Incarnate.
“Besides talking to guys like Lesnar and Triple H and such, I haven’t actually talked to another collegiate wrestler in WWE….[Brock] was a good part [of the decision] because the Brock Lesnar path, like we talked about, he started with WWE and went to the NFL and made it to the final stages of being on the team, then went to UFC. So, I mean the Brock Lesnar route is helpful for me, and I want to pave my own way and have my own destiny. He was a big help in this, and it was cool that he gave me some guidance.”
Steveson has also been compared with WWE legend Kurt Angle even before making his debut in WWE. Fans will be waiting to see how the Olympian performs in the squared circle.
Beast Incarnate returned to WWE after a long halt
Brock Lesnar returned at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view and confronted Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman.
The Tribal Chief defeated John Cena in the one-on-one battle comfortably.
Lesnar returned and pounced on Cena, giving him German Suplex and F5 at the very end of the show.
