More details on Gable Steveson WWE deal
Gable Steveson recently signed a deal with WWE. On speaking with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour podcast he revealed:
“There is, I think, there is a very big chance I might go straight to the main roster and not go to NXT.” “I was open to anything, but with the way things are going, I think I’m going to jump straight to the main roster. And I know there’s a lot to learn and I’m ready to soak everything in like a sponge and just be ready to go out and put a good show on for the crowd.”
Steveson seemed to be pretty confident that he can jump into the main roster by skipping NXT. He is obviously a very talented wrestler as his records already speak for themselves.
But he still has a long road ahead of him to become a WWE star and till then he has to work on his in ring skills to bring the best out of his potential.
Steveson officially signed a deal with the WWE on September 9th and as it currently stands he will be allowed to go to University of Minnesota for his senior year.
He will also be allowed to defend his NCAA title. The Olympic Gold medalist will make his ring debut only after he is done with his college.
Though he can make appearances on the shows he won’t fight yet. To polish his craft WWE will also make a training facility for him near his college campus.
The 21 year old still has a lot to learn about the WWE world. When he makes his ring debut next year it will surely be a spectacle. Will he be as successful in WWE as he was with wrestling only time will tell.
