WWE commentator Corey Graves believes Karrion Kross is close to matching Goldberg
Corey Graves has given his verdict on WWE NXT champion Karrion Kross comparing him to legends like Goldberg and Brock Lesnar.
Speaking on an episode of WWE After the Bell, Graves claimed Kross had a lot going for him and reminded the commentator of Goldberg : (h/t Wrestling Inc)
“I’m going to say Goldberg, not in the same sense that made Goldberg Goldberg but from the intensity. The physical stature sure, it’s easy to draw correlations, but that intensity, that stoic focus, the badass, incredible entrance. It’s captivating, the whole package with Scarlett, but standing on his own physically speaking very rarely goes out and has marathon classics, likes to do his work with intensity and focus in short order.”
“I think Karrion Kross is such a unique character and unique entity”
The comparisons with Goldberg are debatable, but Kross has been on a rampant streak since returning to the black and gold brand. Goldberg, himself returned to the WWE after 12 years and went on to win the WWE Universal Championship.
He has also been involved in a heavyweight battle with Brock Lesnar for the title. Goldberg is always remembered for his time in WCW, where he had a 182-0 streak.
Karrion Kross recently beat Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne and Johnny Gargano in a Fatal 5-Way match to retain the NXT Championship. This match just goes to show how Kross managed to evade some of the best in the roster and continue his reign.
Kross won the NXT Champion once again following his victory over Finn Balor on the second night of NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver in April. He hasn’t looked back since and been dominating the NXT since then.
It is rumoured that Kross will soon make his move to the main roster in WWE. It will be interesting to see him match up with the best of the best and show his dominant self on either brand.
