Braun Strowman hit out at Bray Wyatt
WWE superstar Braun Strowman declared that his fame does not depend on fellow wrestler Bray Wyatt. He took to Twitter and said that hard work alone has brought him success in WWE.
5 years ago, I was fighting to get back into the ring after major surgery. Now I’m 2 days away from defending the @WWE #UniversalTitle at #MITB.
Bray may have introduced me to many of you, but he did not create me.
Hard work and dedication did. Ready to prove it. #Smackdown— The Monster of all Monsters (@Adamscherr99) May 8, 2020
Following WrestleMania, the subsequent edition of SmackDown focused on the future, and there were a few key stories to tell.
What mattered most was setting up the champions’ next feuds. Strowman made clear he was willing to fight anyone, and Shinsuke Nakamura stepped up first. However, what mattered more was that Bray Wyatt waited to make the final challenge of the night.
Shinsuke Nakamura challenged new WWE universal champion Braun Strowman on Friday, and The Monster Among Men took him down with a running powerslam despite Cesaro’s interference.
Wyatt appeared later and demanded his title back from his former ally. Wyatt vs. Strowman is a fascinating pairing coming at the perfect moment.
The Monster can believably challenge even The Fiend, and the two can get to brawling from the very start of any match.
Wyatt carrying great form
Wyatt does have the psychological advantage against Strowman and put on a great show at WrestleMania.
John Cena said he wasn’t going to compete at WrestleMania this year. That was until The Fiend challenged him on SmackDown.
The match started with Wyatt inviting Cena to come to his ‘world’ and step inside the Firefly Funhouse.
Once inside, Cena was taken on a journey through his career and supposed failings. Like his debut against Kurt Angle, for instance, where he displayed Ruthless Aggression.
Then it moved on to Cena finding his rap gimmick as the Dr of Thuganomics. Along the way, Wyatt kept talking about Cena being pretentious and a bad person, contrary to the image he projects.
Finally, The Fiend appeared and took out the modern-day John Cena. But, as he was doing it, he replayed Cena’s promo from SmackDown and in a beautiful twist, it turns out Cena was talking about himself, in the words of Wyatt.
