Rusev and Lana split a while back on WWE
WWE Superstar Lana has uploaded a new video on her official Youtube channel. She has finally shared her detailed thoughts on the WWE release of her on-screen ex-husband, Rusev.
Lana spoke about the incident on RAW when she and Bobby Lashley were arrested by the Nashville police.
She stated that the reason she was arrested was that Rusev had allegedly bribed the cops. Lana showed a bunch of RAW segments from the past where Rusev can be seen berating her.
She also related to Grey’s anatomy and told that she cried when her favourite character was taken off from the show.
She went on to say,
“So I get what the WWE Universe is feeling right now, they’re devastated that so many of their favourite characters are not going to appear on WWE programming anymore, and I know that Rusev was the #1 trend, or #2 trend… #2 globally and like, #1 in the USA, or something crazy.
“I can assure all of you guys, not that I’m talking to Rusev every day or something like that. But I can assure you, that the man that I found in 2013 in NXT, discovered him, the man that climbed up the ladder in WWE, is made up of a lot”.
Rusev is among the list of performers released by WWE because of cutbacks stemming from the coronavirus pandemic.
Rusev’s last appearance for WWE was on the Feb. 17 episode of Raw when he teamed with Humberto Carillo in a tag team match against Bobby Lashley and Angel Garza.
Prior to that, Rusev was involved in a storyline in which Lana divorced him to marry Lashley.
After wrestling for independent promotions early in his career, Rusev signed with WWE in 2010. He debuted on NXT television three years later and made his main roster debut at the 2014 Royal Rumble.
Rusev won the United States Championship three times during his WWE tenure.
