“He’s a specimen” – Heath Slater isn’t surprised Drew McIntyre came back from the abyss to reach the top

Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre were part of 3MB but they charted very different paths

Former WWE star Heath Slater was speaking to Chris van Vliet regarding his release from the company and even Drew McIntyre.

The 36-year-old is a former WWE Tag champion but his final months in the promotion weren’t all that great.

Heath Slater was released by WWE recently (WWE)

Slater was mostly used to put someone over or was involved in squash matches. He did have some great moments with his ‘I’ve got kids’ promos but that was about it.

Slater was also part of the Three Man Band, 3MB, which featured Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre. Both Mahal and McIntyre went on to become WWE champions with the Scot currently holding the WWE Championship.

Slater was asked about McIntyre’s comeback and the former WWE star always believed in the Scottish Psychopath:

“100%, He always did you know.”

“He always had drive. He always had the look, he always had the in-ring ability. I mean, he’s a specimen.”

Better than ever before

McIntyre was released a while back by WWE and worked a lot on his character. He became a top star in other promotions and came back stronger than ever to WWE.

That worked in his favour, according to Slater, as the former WWE star claimed the Scot is better than he would have ever been had he remained with the company:

“Him now, I think, would be better than if he would be if he ever stayed.”

Drew McIntyre is the WWE Champion (WWE)

The former star also believed that McIntyre’s release from WWE helped him find out who he really was.

Slater also was asked about how he felt to be the only 3MB member not to hold a WWE World title. However, the former star wasn’t bitter about missing out.

Slater suggested that things didn’t work out for him and the cards were right at the time, but he is working harder than ever to show what he is capable of in the ring.
