Humberto Carrillo could have suffered a nasty injury on this week’s RAW
Sheamus and Humberto Carrillo went up against each other for the United States championship again on the 10th May episode of WWE Monday Night RAW.
The two have had a budding rivalry in the past few weeks. Carrillo was also the culprit in forcing last week’s match between Mansoor and Sheamus to end as a DQ.
But his most recent match ended in a way which hadn’t been planned. Carrillo, the Mexican luchador, was attempting a sunset flip on ‘The Celtic Warrior’ when things got awry.
In the video above, it can be seen how the Irishman’s entire weight is put on Carrillo’s lower abdomen and legs when the two landed on the floor.
The 25-year-old can be seen immediately signalling something to a person off-camera that something had gone wrong.
Despite this serious moment, the referee and Sheamus worked well to communicate and conclude the match. The champion was declared the winner but even he looked like he had taken a hit in that fall.
However, that could be some quick thinking on his part to ensure that Carrillo’s fall doesn’t get a lot of attention and it seems like the incident was scripted.
Nevertheless, Sheamus got up to his feet soon and seemed like he could move around well. But it did not look good for Humberto Carrillo, who held his upper left thigh throughout.
It could be a muscle tear or even a fracture, but nothing official on the injury is available yet from WWE.
Fans would be hoping that it is nothing serious and that Carrillo’s deserved push is not interrupted by this. We will keep you updated on the latest regarding this situation.
