Bayley got some advice from John Cena regarding working without a WWE crowd
The WWE Thunderdome era will go down as one of the many successes during the Covid-19 pandemic.
WWE were finally able to get the fans back, in some form, thanks to their digital presence. However, it was different prior to that as there were no fans in attendance.
The arena was silent and things would have been difficult for some stars to perform. Wrestlers thrive off the crown but this was a new challenge.
Bayley, who had a great relationship with the fans before turning heel, opened up about this. She was speaking to Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions and was asked about this.
Paquette brought up how Bayley would play off the fans but The Role Model had John Cena to thank for getting things going:
“It was so weird. I can’t believe we have been doing it for as long as we have.
“I believe it’s over a year and we are barely going to have fans back, but as weird as it was, just on that first day, I remember talking to Daniel Bryan and [John] Cena was there.
“They were having a conversation and Cena was like ‘You know what, I have done everything but I haven’t done this. I haven’t been in a WWE ring on TV with 0 fans out there so it is kind of like a good challenge and it could be something new for me to learn.’
“That instantly just changed my whole mindset and I was like, ‘He is so right’, if we can do this, we can do anything.”
Bayley then brought up how important it was for the stars to perform and show that their characters are stronger than what is shown.
Of course, The Role Model claimed that 90% of their show is based on fan interaction, but most of them have done extremely well during this Covid-19 era.
Banks and Bayley as a team were hilarious to watch and they did some great stuff. The split was also played off well and Bayley really has taken her heel persona to another level.
She might not be in the WrestleMania business now, but there is no doubt she is one of the top talents in WWE at the moment.
