Sheamus is a big Liverpool FC fan and got to see a match recently
WWE star Sheamus made a return to SmackDown a few weeks back but he spent his time away by visiting his favourite club, Liverpool.
The Reds, as they are called, are the champions of Europe having won the Champions League.
They were set to win the Premier League for the first time this season before the coronavirus pandemic suspended the league.
Sheamus was present at Anfield a few months back prior to a Champions League match and was in awe of the stadium:
“Tell me this isn’t the greatest ground in the world.”
Sheamus explained why Liverpool meant so much to them and had visited the stadium during his childhood too.
“Liverpool football club is my other passion apart from wrestling. Supported it since I was a kid, I remember being in the front row when they beat QPR 2-1.”
A WrestleMania at Anfield?!

WrestleMania at Anfield?
The former WWE champion also spoke prior to the Champions League match and was on pitchside with Des Kelly and Steve McManaman.
However, he believed a WrestleMania at Anfield would be an incredible event for the fans too:
“I’d love to have WrestleMania here and its a good job there’s no roof at Anfield else the roof would have been blown right off.”
Sheamus also got a close look at some of the current Liverpool stars, and it was a great experience for the Irishman.
The former champion got a behind the scenes view and got to see the famous ‘This is Anfield’ sign. That sign hasn’t been changed for years and Sheamus joked that the WrestleMania sign changes every year.
This isn’t the first time Sheamus has shown his love for the club. He has watched their games during his time in the US too and shared videos on social media at odd hours in the morning.
WrestleMania is just a few days away and it will be interesting to see how the show goes. The two-day event will take place at the Performance Center with no fans due to the coronavirus pandemic.
