The identity of Diamond Mine stays a mystery but we can rule out one contender for it
Just a shade over a week ago, a mystery vignette was aired on WWE NXT which featured the words ‘Diamond Mine’.
The logo saying ‘Diamond Mine’ was all that that could be seen before the vignette was cut. And this had fans guessing who it could be.
Well, it couldn’t be Diamond Dallas Page at his age (or could it?) so fans went in the next natural direction of thinking it is Tessa Blanchard.
The former IMPACT Wrestling star is one of the most famous names in women’s pro wrestling and has an affiliation with diamonds.
Her wrestling attire and entrance theme are heavily related to the precious gem and fans were wondering if the 25-year-old daughter of ‘The Four Horsemen’ member Tully Blanchard was Diamond Mine.
But turns out that is not the case, or at least that’s what a report by Fightful (h/t Cageside Seats) would lead us to believe.
“NXT is working to keep the identity or identities of the Diamond Mine gimmick under wraps for as long as possible, but a WWE source told Fightful Select they don’t ‘want fans expecting [Tessa] Blanchard to be the act or a part of it’.”
Well, that’s a bummer. NXT already has a thriving women’s division and Tessa Blanchard would most definitely have been the cherry on top of an already perfect cake.
But it seems as if fans would have to wait a while to know who exactly is Diamond Mine. And the usage of plurals in the statement above could mean its multiple superstars.
Let’s just hope its not wrestlers on the current roster forming a new tag team named Diamond Mine because the fans are now excited for a newcomer (or comers).
