Indi Hartwell belted out Old Town Road to get into Hit Row Records on WWE NXT
Well, for a wrestling name that sounds like a band you’d see on Day 1 of Burning Man, it is only fitting that Indi Hartwell can also sing.
The WWE NXT tag team champion posted a video on Twitter where she is singing her cover of ‘Old Town Road’, a hit country-rap song by Lil Nas X, while playing the guitar.
She actually does a pretty good job at it. The 15-second clip sees her doing the chorus alone but she thinks it should be enough to get her into Hit Row Records.
Her caption read, “Hit Row Records, please sign me to a record deal. [Cowboy emoji]”
Well, Hartwell is clearly just having a laugh by saying that but the video made for a really fun watch nonetheless.
Hit Row Records made their NXT debut this week
If you’re wondering what or who Hit Row Records is, we don’t blame you. You’re probably one of the many wrestling fans that didn’t tune into NXT this Tuesday.
This week’s Tuesday night episode drew the lowest viewer count since moving from Wednesday night (h/t WrestlingInc). But the show saw one major development.
Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott, AJ Francis, Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis, and Brianna Brandy announced that they have come together to form a new stable- Hit Row Records.
They even rapped out their promos after Scott’s win against Leon Ruff in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
As for Hartwell, she has had issues with her own stable, The Way, but there’s no way WWE removes her from it. So, Scott’s reaction to her video, as shown above, is just a nod of acknowledgement rather than a signal of them teaming up.
She is also the new tag team champion alongside Candice LeRae after their win over Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon last week.
