NXT stars Io Shirai and Mia Yim are keen on taking on Bayley

WWE NXT stars Io Shirai and Mia Yim have had their battles on the Black and Gold brand over the years.

However, the pair seem keen to make their mark on one of the other brands too after Stephanie McMahon’s latest announcement.

McMahon decided to set up a Triple Brand Battle Royal to determine who Bayley would face at SummerSlam.

The Role Model recently completed 300 days as the SmackDown Women’s Champion and needs a new rival. She last defeated Nikki Cross on SmackDown and was out in the ring celebrating with Sasha Banks before McMahon interrupted.

Bayley was upset with the news but this opened the door for some other stars to throw their names in the hat for this match.

While WWE asked the fans for some wrestlers they would want to see in this, Shirai and Yim hinted that they want to be part of all this.

While Shirai used a couple of emojis to show off her interest, Yim went through the archives to find an old photo of her and Bayley competing:

Shirai and Yim have been staples on NXT for a while with Shirai the current NXT Women’s Champion.

It would be difficult seeing her leave the Black and Gold brand now given that she won the title fairly recently.

The Great American Bash Day 2 started with Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae (WWE)

Yim, on the other hand, could do with a change in scenario. She hasn’t been involved for the NXT title and her last rivalry was against Candice LeRae which ended in a brilliant street fight match.

Yim might not win the SmackDown title should she win this triple brand battle royal, but she could start a new rivalry on SmackDown or even Raw.
