AEW Superstar Cody Rhodes recently made his departure from the company. But is he making a return to WWE?
AEW superstar Cody Rhodes has officially left the company, as confirmed by a statement from him and AEW president Tony Khan. He took to Twitter and wrote a heartfelt message to Rhodes. Khan mentioned that he has immense respect for Cody and Brandi and wishes them the best as they move from AEW.
Rhodes might be on his way back to WWE now, and landing one of the faces of AEW would be the most significant victory for Vince McMahon’s company in the ongoing war between the two promotions.
It has been reported that Rhodes has been in conversation with WWE regarding his return. Many sources have already said that Rhodes will likely land in WWE and could be appearing for the promotion very soon.
One of PWTorch journalist Wade Keller (h/t Givemesport), has mentioned Cody returning to WWE and is likely to get a big push now as McMahon is seeing this as a big signing as he loves the idea of getting the co-founder and EVP from different promotions,
“Cody and WWE haven’t confirmed it, but Cody is going to WWE, and he’s going to get a big push.“Vince McMahon is going to treat this as a big deal. Everybody I talked to thinks Vince loves the idea of acquiring a co-founder and EVP and, you know, main event wrestler. He just held the title of their second single not that long ago, and having him show up on WWE TV is something that Vince is very interested in taking advantage of and making money on it.”
Former Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes might get a big match at WrestleMania
The reports further said that the deal isn’t 100% confirmed by Rhodes could end up having a big match at WrestleMania in April. However, he is sure to make at least an appearance on WrestleMania.
“It could even be a situation where Cody is in a major match at WrestleMania. I fully expect Cody to be on WrestleMania either as a wrestler or making his first appearance.”
Some reports even say that he might appear in RAW or SmackDown pretty soon which will make things clear about what WWE is planning for the superstar.
