John Cena recently completed 20 years in WWE, he returned on the 27 June edition of RAW to celebrate the milestone with the WWE Universe.
This was the first time John Cena appeared on WWE television after competing against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021. Cena lost that match and that was the last we had seen of him in WWE till his appearance on this week’s episode of RAW.
Fans are always on the lookout for John Cena as he is someone that can easily intrigue them inside a WWE ring, be it in a match or even on the microphone. Cena can captivate the crowds and is also a savior for WWE during their low times. Whenever the Stamford-based company goes through a tough time selling tickets for its shows, they dial Cena’s number and the 16-time world champion appears and gets them out of thin ice.
Cena might have appeared seldomly in WWE over the last few years but his stardom has not diminished one bit. He always receives the loudest pop whenever he appears on WWE television and is loved by people of all ages.
John Cena’s absence from WWE
John Cena used to wrestle day in and day out for the first 15 years of his WWE career. He had carried the company on his shoulders at one point in time.
His WWE appearances have been few and far between as of late. However, illness is not an issue for the 45-year-old. He has taken long breaks from WWE to focus on his acting career.
Cena has acted in several films in Hollywood. He made his acting debut back in 2006 with the action movie The Marine. He has featured in comedy films like Trainwreck, and Sisters. The legendary wrestler also starred in the war drama The Wall. More recently, he was seen in Justin Lin’s F9, where he played the brother of Vin Diesel’s character. In 2021, Cena co-hosted the TV game show Wipeout.
Cena has also been making dreams come true for many people through his work for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He has currently fulfilled over 650 wishes. Cena remains quite busy throughout the year but he makes a point to take out time from his arduous schedule and return to WWE now and then. He considers WWE as his home and the WWE Universe as his family.
