Impact World champion opens up about rejecting WWE
World Champion Moose has reflected on the past and opened up about rejecting WWE. He is now Impact World Champion, but he could have been the WWE Champion instead of that if he had made a different decision.
Moose recently had a chat with Alistair McGeorge of Metro UK and opened up about his decision to reject a WWE offer. He mentioned that it was a “hard decision” and had left the offer from the company as his time in Impact was not done.
“It was definitely a hard decision,” Moose confessed. “As much as I love Impact and I love everything Impact was doing, I also wanted to see what else was out there. I had a chance to go to WWE, but ultimately, I decided that my time in Impact wasn’t done.”
Moose also said that he wanted to accomplish things outside of WWE, which played a massive factor in decision-making.
“There were things I needed to accomplish that I haven’t accomplished yet. It wouldn’t have been fair on myself, or it wouldn’t be fair on the company if I left so soon without accomplishing those other things,” “Ultimately, that was my reason for staying.”
Impact World Champion also mentioned in the chat about the amount of creative freedom he would have lost by leaving Impact, and this was one of the main reasons for rejecting the company.
“I think that’s one of the reasons why a lot of guys choose to come to Impact over AEW or going to WWE – the freedom that you have to create,” “I’ve heard that in other companies, that’s not the case at all. You don’t really have freedom at all. It’s up to the writers to decide,”
Moose won the Impact World Championship on October 23 when he cashed in the Call Your Shot gauntlet at Bound For Glory on fan-favorite Christian Cage.
