AJ Styles and The Undertaker seem set to face-off at WrestleMania 36
WWE star AJ Styles shocked the world on Raw with a firebrand promo regarding The Undertaker.
The former WWE champion hit out at Taker, his age, wrestling history and also spoke about his wife, Michelle McCool.
That was one of the talking points on this week’s WWE Backstage as he was interviewed by Renee Young and Xavier Woods.
Styles, who has been chokeslammed by Taker a couple of times recently, wasn’t happy about that one bit.
He was then asked by Young on why he wanted to fight the legend and explained Taker was on his bucket list:
“It’s gotta be on the bucket list for anyone in our business. It’s The Undertaker, guys.
“I mean, it’s huge. I want to learn from this man. How much can I learn from this man?”
Styles also recalled some of Taker’s best matches from WrestleMania and wanted to learn from the Deadman:
“I’ve studied him for so many years. The matches with Shawn [Michaels] are unbelievable.
“I want to know what he knows, and the only way to get is to get into the ring with him.”
Age catching up with Styles
Young went on to say that Styles is one of the best in the ring, and was a little surprised why he wanted to take on Taker.
The former champion claimed that he still has a lot left in him and wants to learn more. Styles also added that he is getting older and cannot do certain things as he used to in the past.
This is where experience would come in and Styles would know what to do when and how, something that Taker has shown over the years.
Taker might not be the youngest in the ring but the legend can bring the house down. Styles and Taker could be a classic, and that would be down to how much effort the leader of the OC puts in to help the Deadman perform.
