Jeff Hardy’s tenure with the WWE will be end soon and make him eligible to join any promotional brand.

Jeff Hardy will officially become a free agent on 10th March 2022 and become eligible to join any other promotional wrestling brand. Hardy was released from his WWE contract back in January 2022 after he had refused the company’s offer to help. According to a report by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, the brand had offered him help and rehab, which Hardy had declined.

The charismatic enigma has been battling drugs and addiction for a long time outside the squared circle. He even had a small stint at a rehab facility after a DUI arrest back in October 2019. The former WWE Champion was let go after he was in a six-man tag team match with Drew McIntyre and Xavier Woods against Roman Reigns and The Usos. Once the match had started, Hardy seemed sluggish in the ring and later left the ring and walked out through the crowd.

Following the incident, he was offered help and support from the management but once he declined, he was let go of his contract with the company. He is currently abiding the 90 day no-compete cause of WWE’s contract but will be free to join any brand once it gets over on 10th March 2022.

Matt Hardy posts a cryptic tweet

The 44 year old’s brother, Matt, revealed the news while also addressing the prospects of the veteran joining All Elite Wrestling during the latest episode of his podcast, “Do I think Jeff Hardy could end up coming to AEW and teaming with Matt Hardy again? As they say in the wrestling business, never say never, anything is possible. We’re definitely going to be working together and we’ll see if the planets align and we do get the opportunity to become the greatest team in all of space and time once more.”

Jeff’s brother Matt Hardy recently revealed on a podcast that, WWE had attempted to contact Jeff and bring him back and had even offered him a spot in the Hall Of Fame but were declined by Jeff every time. Matt further went on to state that the company “jumped the gun” on releasing Jeff because his drug test came back “totally clean on every level.”

AEW has been very active in hiring former WWE superstars and names such as, Keith Lee, Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole are the latest additions to the roster. The former WWE Intercontinental champion joining AEW would not be a surprise move seeing his connections with the wrestlers there. Since Jeff Hardy’s return to WWE in 2017, he has been the recipient of several championship.
